Artist Rupture’s Remains series links four physical paintings to Bitcoin ordinal inscriptions whose images contain 210,000 pixels, matching the number of blocks in a halving epoch. Starting with the expected April 2028 halving, each inscription is designed to lose one pixel whenever a new Bitcoin block is mined. A collector can stop the decay only by retrieving a unique code hidden beneath the corresponding painting and inscribing it as a child of the ordinal, a process that requires damaging part of the physical work. Preserving one form therefore puts the other at risk.
